20 Jewelry Creation
Martha Pachón Rodríguez www.mprodriguez.com
May 11th - 17th 2014

Handbuilding. For all.

We will learn how to design, cut and fold porcelain, the use of ancient Asian techniques, how to make molds for the creation and replication of jewelry, the assembly and use of different tools.
In a first phase, Martha will teach the use of porcelain as if it were paper, folding, cutting and coloring, almost like Origami, allowing for endless possibilities: functional, spontaneous or refined.
In a second phase there will be a chapter devoted to the three ancient Chinese and Japanese techniques on colour mixtures, developed in a contemporary way. Techniques taught will include inlay, mosaic and layering of clay with contrasting colours, which will allow for a wide variation of colour and shape, conveying an exotic character and great personality to the jewelry.
Third phase of the workshop will be dedicated to the mold as a practical and rational way to express creativity with designing of a model, construction of the mold and use with different techniques.
And finally, the assembly of the parts for finishing the jewelry, the study of tools and complementary elements and materials that relate to porcelain.

The course is taught in English with Italian translation.

Cost: € 960

The workshop fee includes the following:
Tuition (class is 6/7  hours per day with 12 hours studio time)
