Throwing. For all levels
The worldwide sgraffito traditions of images and pattern drawn through white slip under brilliant colors come to modern life in this wheel throwing class. We will use the local Tuscan terra cotta clay and take inspiration from 16th century sgraffito ware from the region.
There will be a concentration on throwing open forms such as bowls, cups and plates and apposite technical guidance will be given for all skill levels. We will use white slip and Terra Sigillata to cover the surface, so that we can draw through it in sgraffito technique to make our patterns and images.
The glazes we use on top of it are transparent bright colors-the perfect finish for your pieces.
Cost € 1.480
Includes welcome dinner, lunches, lodging, tuition, materials and firings.
