July 8th  – 14th  2018

Decoration techniques. Intermediate

Decoration techniques. Intermediate
Metallic salts are often referred to as watercolour on porcelain and offer many areas for experimentation. During this week we will do a number of tests using layering in multiple firings using various resist techniques in combination with the salts, finishing with each participant creating their own bone china pieces with soluble salt decoration. Metallic salts differ from oxides, which are usually used to colour ceramic surfaces, in that they maintain the translucency of the porcelain or bone china that they are applied to.
This course is an ideal follow up to course 27, where participants will have gained confidence with the making of objects in bone china, but each course is complete on its own. A 15 % discount applies for those booking both courses

The total cost of the course is 1100 euros; Single price supplement: 150 Euros.
The workshop fee includes the following
Tuition of 6 – 8 hours per day
Studio open 12 hours per day
All materials and firings
Lodging in double room; single room on request, add 150 euros
Welcome dinner and welcome breakfast
A freshly prepared Tuscan Lunch with wine on all working days
